It looks like you crammed an awful lot of sightseeing into your Australia bucket list. I think you're going to want to return again. I really love those beach houses, so colorful and yet quaint like beach doll houses.

I love the pictures of the beach houses. They always make for great photos.

I haven't been to Melbourne, so thank you for the insights. I've been to Sydney. It's also a clean and friendly city. Definitely worth a visit as well.

I visited Sydney, Australia many years ago and loved it. I enjoyed the city, the beaches, and a a tour into the Blue Mountains. I hope to get back to Sydney some day and see other parts of Australia.

Looks like you saw a great deal in a week! Thanks for sharing and inspiring~

I didn't know Australia is so full of colour! I love those beach cabanas -- they're super cute ( as is your pink sheath dress - what a gorgeous colour).

I've never visiting Australia but it is on my bucket list. Thanks for the visual intro.

Great photos of Australia- makes me want to go. I, too loved those beach huts- the colors are wonderful.

Beautiful photography!
Thanks for the tip. I plan to visit Indonesia next year... I guess, I am going to Australia too :)

Donna Hull

Great photos. I didn't realize that Melbourne had such interesting architecture.

Looks like you made the most of such a short visit to Oz. I've heard great things about Melbourne, but even with 3 weeks, I didn't manage to get there. Instead, I opted for Sydney plus the Hop-on-Hop-off bus up the coast to Hervey Bay (and Lady Elliot Island). And of course... the legendary Uluru (Ayers Rock).

Oddly enough, we've been to Perth in Western Australia twice because my husband collaborates with another physician scientist there on some research projects. Whenever I tell this to an Aussie, usually they haven't been to Perth since it's the most isolated big city in the world (or so we were told). It's really the only city in W.A. and quite beautiful. I've been to Sydney and Adelaide (as a jumping off place to visit Kangaroo Island), but we've never been to Melbourne nor Cairns---both places I'd still like to visit.

colorful post!

I was going to ask about the colorful little houses but you answered in your post.

Super shots! The beachhouses are lovely. And, who can resist koala bears?

I guess I also was under the impression that Australia was like the US so I enjoyed reading your post and seeing some of the differences. Awesome photos!

Haven't had the pleasure of visiting Australia yet, but I have a craving to do so. Great to see all the diverse and wonderful things to do and see in your post.

I'm glad you had a good time after your last experience. Your honesty upon arrival is refreshing, and the photos show that feeling changed quickly. Everything is so colorful, I didn't realize it was like that.

You're back fr Alaska right? Now heading to China? Woot good luck and have fun in China. I've been to Melbourne twice and loved both stays. We stayed with a friend so saved on hotel charges. Would love to visit Australia again, Gold Coast next perhaps? :)
