Visiting the Koh Phi Phi Islands in Thailand for the Second Time
08/02/2016
I was so happy in the above photo because during our week in Phuket we dealt with a lot of weather like the below photo. Those spots of water are not on the lens of my camera - the rain drops for really that big! The good thing is it did not rain at night there and we were able to take a trip into the city of Phuket which I will write about later and I thought was extremely beautiful and interesting!
This was my second trip to an island off the southern coast of Thailand called Phuket in the last three years. I am so happy that I was able to visit a second time. Of all the places I visited in the world this was one of my favorite destinations. I thought the scenery was beautiful, and the people were very kind and friendly. but I did not get any great photos. The first time I visited I only owned a point-and-shoot and had no idea how to edit those photos.
Phi Phi island is where Leonardo Dicaprio filmed the movie "The Beach". I noticed some differences in this area since the last time I was there. There is a lot of construction going on and tourism has increased a great deal! I got the same feeling that I have over the past 20 years visiting Cancun seeing it grow and grow.
As you can see the water is so blue it looks like you can dye Easter eggs and in it. My friend and I felt very fortunate that we had a nice enough day to really enjoy this trip as the weather during much of our time in Phuket was a monsoon.
The trip cost about 110 USD which includes pick up and drop off at your airport, lunch and snacks throughout the day. We visited four different islands and got to snorkel too. The tour guides were very helpful and informative. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting this area of the world!
The water really is as blue as it looks in my photos!
One of the islands that we stopped by is called Monkey Island. We did not get off the boat but they were very fun to watch!
I noticed a lot of architecture and hotels on many of the islands did appeared desolate the first time I visited:
I loved the pretty wooden boats that we saw everywhere. Does along with the landscape person of interest in my opinion! You are a good girl
I really appreciate you all stopping by! I would love to hear about any trips that you have been on to this area of the world or anywhere in Thailand. It is one of my favorite countries that I have visited. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions. I hope you all have a wonderful week!
