Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money ~ Cree Indian Proverb

In honor of Earth Day on April 22nd, a group of travel bloggers and I collaborated to create a post about national parks around the world. There are some really interesting places/photos in this post and my bucket list is even longer now! It truly is amazing what we can do when we work together

My portion of the post is on Ha Long Bay, Vietnam:

Hello Vietnam

"We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face...we must do that which we think we cannot."

That's me jumping off the third floor deck into 60 foot deep jelly fish infested water. Yes, I'm proud and surprised at myself ;)  I was on a two day cruise in Ha Long Bay in South Vietnam which is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Just in case you needed proof ;)

There were many beautiful cruise ships out in Ha Long Bay while we were there.

The cute restauraunt in my hotel.  You can see the French influence that is so prevalent in this country.

I loved the food in Vietnam!  I hadn't eaten any bread in Thailand and my vegetarian baguette sandwich was so delish!

My mango crepe with vanilla ice cream dessert was even better.

I stayed in a nice (4 star hotel).  Here is a view from my window.  My wifi worked fine.

Lastly, I will leave you with  a view of a fishing village in beautiful Ha Long Bay.

I wish I'd had more time in Vietnam.  I definitely would like to return one day.  I felt very safe and was treated very nicely.  They had really cute clothes for great prices, but I had no room in my luggage.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Why I Named This Blog What I Did

"Live with intention.  Walk to the edge.  Listen hard.  Practice wellness.  Play with abandon.  Laugh.  Choose with no regret. Continue to learn.  Appreciate your friends.  Do what you love.  Live as if this is all there is." Mary Anne Radmacher

I do live on the water in Florida that is not on an island, BUT it seems like I always end up visiting them.  In no way am I complaining or saying that is a bad thing.  There is really only one drawback and that is the cost of my flight is generally a little more since there is usually an extra connection from the mainland.  For example, when I traveled to Phuket, I had to stop in Bangkok first.  We own some timeshares and the island destinations tend to be available very frequently and I'm guessing the flight cost is part of the reason why.  I'm not saying the price is always higher, but it seems to often be the case. When I travel I do a lot of walking and hiking, generally 5-10 miles a day.  It's nothing for me to spend 8 hours out just wandering around exploring. people watching, and taking photos.  Here is a list of some of the islands I've traveled to and some photos of them:  I will add more photos of these islands in my next post

Bermuda

Puerto Rico

Big Island

Maui

Kauai

Phuket

Bali

Malta/Gozo

Phi Phi Island (where Leonardo Dicaprio filmed "The Beach")

The final two photos were taken in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.  It is one of the natural wonders of the world and the 3 day cruise I went on was one of the best travel experiences I've had!  The second photo is of me jumping off the third floor of our small cruise ship into 60 foot deep jellyfish infested water.  The water was warm at least :-)
